Kendrick Lamar - “B-tch Don’t Kill My Vibe” [VIDEO]

It’s May 2013, and Kendrick Lamar’s debut, good kid, M.A.A.D. city is still getting heavy burn. As a reminder, today he drops the video for one of the critically acclaimed album’s strongest cuts, “B-tch Don’t Kill My Vibe.”

In the visual, the Compton rapper is dressed in all white and takes us to church, where he pays his respects to a fallen friend before taking a limo ride. Somehow, fly looking model chicks work themselves into the equation. Also, Mike Epps performs a baptism (and poses with Lamar in front of a white casket), the Beats Pill makes an appearance and that aforementioned limo ride, and funeral procession turns into a turnt up party with plenty of champagne bottles.

If you make it to the end of the video, the word “Death to molly” flash on the screen. Now that’s an interesting vibe.

Recently, the former K. Dot was named principal for a day at a school in Rhode Island. Lord forgive if you’re still snoozing on Mr. Lamar.

MOVIE Trailer: Paula Patton, Tia Mowry, Trey Songz, Lauren London, Jill Scott & More In “Baggage Claim”

Paula Patton stars as flight attendant “Montana Moore” in the brand new David Talbert comedy flick Baggage Claim. And everybody and their mama is in this movie. The plot:

Pledging to keep herself from being the oldest and the only woman in her entire family never to wed, Montana embarks on a thirty-day, thirty-thousand-mile expedition to charm a potential suitor into becoming her fiancé.

Hotties like Taye Diggs, Trey Songz and Boris Kodjoe play just a few of Paula’s exes in the movie. While LaLa Anthony, Affion Crockett, Jill Scott, Adam Brody and more play TSA workers, her flight attendant friends and agents. Lauren London plays her sister who is getting married and Jenifer Lewis is their hilarious mom.

Also starring in the flick: Christina Milian, Djimon Hounsou, Derek Luke, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Terrence J. (as Lauren London’s man) and more.

The movie, with an $8.5 million budget, hits theaters September 27th. And it may be the typical RomCom about a thirty-something rushing and stressing to find a man since all her family and friends are getting married, but we’ll still be right there watching. Sue us.

J. Cole – “Cole Summer” [LISTEN]

“The sample was yelling loop me,” said J. Cole referring to his inspiration for a new song affectionately titled “Cole Summer.” Thank the most high for that, because that feeling birthed a song with a warmth that rivals the season that serves as its namesake.

Cole looped Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo’s “Nothing Even Matters” into a bouncy, yet soulful jam ladened with vocal riffs from the aforementioned singers. This gives light-skinned Jermaine room to spit with the honesty we’ve come to love from the Roc Nation lyricist. In result, listeners receive poignant bars often filled with humorous, but true accounts of his current success and feelings toward a potential sophomore jinx.

With “Power Trip” steadily climbing the charts, it’s safe to say that Cole’s come out swinging his second time around. And “Cole Summer” happens to be one of two tracks we can expect from the Fayetteville native in the next 24 hours. Just moments ago, he dropped a bomb on Twitter saying, “F**k it. Truly Yours 2 tomorrow. You Deserve it.”

VIDEO: Ciara’s “Body Party” VIDEO Starring Future

Ciara dropped the visual for her “Body Party” video today. Produced by Mike WiLL Made It and written by Future, Cici’s boyfriend,the video tells the story of how they met. While wearing a sleeveless t-shirt with the word “Ballin” on it, harem pants and black sunglasses, Ciara, backed by a group of dancers, uses her sexy movements to start a “body party” and catch Future’s eye from across the room.

Future throws CiCi a smooth line and predicts that they will become a couple….because he can see the “future”.

While talking about the video, which pays homage to the Atlanta house party scene, she said, “It’s been so many years since I’ve done a video in Atlanta. That alone was refreshing, but went beyond that. We captured the spirit of the songand the feeling of having a body party. It’s the perfect combination.”

The video features cameos from Ludacris, Trinidad James, and Jazze Pha.

Fantasia Gives An Amazing Performance On American Idol

Can we talk about how Fantasia slayed her performance on American Idol? She definitely showed out!

Last night, she left viewers in awe as she returned to the stage that made her a superstar for a performance of “Lose To Win.” While dressed in all white, Fantasia took it to church during the song, which resulted in a standing ovation from the judges and the audience. At the end of the emotional performance, Nicki Minaj did some sort of praise stomp before giving the “Girl, You WERKED that!” z-formation with her hands.

Wu-Tang Clan Perform At Coachella 2013 [VIDEO]

Wu-Tang Clan would sit somewhere atop of the ranks on any list of things holy and sacred in Hip-Hop culture. That alone made last night’s Coachella line up all the more special, as the annual festival assembled RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa and Cappdadonna to perform a bevy of their hits.

Those lucky enough to catch the Clan’s entire set can attest that it was just as raw as the New York collective’s legendary persona, completely lacking any coordination or form. Beautiful calamity is what we’ll call it, and it worked like a charm, as onlookers threw their “W’s” up and recited lyrics from countless Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) classics.

Magic moments like this encapsulated the set, which can partially be seen in the footage of the Clan performing classic hits “C.R.E.A.M.” and “Protect Ya Neck.”

It’s also worth noting that the Clan will drop their sixth album A Better Tomorrow some time in July.

Fabolous Ft Chris Brown Music Video “Ready” [Video]

After a couple of trailers, Fabolous finally gets around to releasing the video for “Ready,” featuring Chris Brown. The song serves as the lead single for the Brooklyn rapper’s forthcoming Loso’s Way 2 album.

The video starts with Loso dropping the maid in his hotel room a chunky tip before it goes into the rapper driving around an exotic locale (the Dominican Republic) in a Jeep and ATV. We ain’t buying the image of Fab handwriting chicks—in this case Jessica White—notes and sliding them under their doors, though. But, it does lead to dinner on the beach, and more, so maybe he’s on to something.

Breezy handles the hook while Fab supplies slick bars over the mellow groove hooked up by The Runners.Loso’s Way will be Fab’s sixth proper album and is due in stores later this year via Def Jam Records.

J. Cole ‘Power Trip’ Video

They say, “Love can make you do some crazy things,” but J. Cole took it to the extreme in his new video for “Power Trip” featuring Miguel.

In the song, J. Cole raps about having the blues over a long lost love who he can’t get over, and she’s got him sprung and his nose wide open. In the video, he’s sitting in a car with one of his boys outside of her house, (basically stalking) while watching her with her new man, played by Miguel. From there, we take a trip with a distraught J. Cole and his homeboy through the streets of their town and down into the woods… and you’ll just have to watch the video to find out what happens next. [If we haven’t already spoiled it! ]

My mouth literally hit the floor, but you kind of know what you sign up for as soon as the message, “This video contains imagery that may be disturbing to some viewers. Parental discretion is advised” flashes across the screen in the beginning.

If Chris Brown spent more time focusing on music, his reputation would take a turn for the better. Today Breezy drops the video, and single, for “Fine China,” the lead single from his forthcoming album, titled X.

The uptempto track sounds like a surefire hit and is produced by Leon “RoccStar” Youngblood Jr. Brown is in singing mood, tossing his vocals at the upbeat track and even hitting the occasional high note. It’s alright I’m not dangerous, when your mine I’ll be generous/You are irreplaceable, a collectible, just like fine china,” goes the guitar driven track’s course.

“For the first single, I wanted to go more nostalgic, bring Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke to it, but also bring a new sound to what my audience and fans are listening to,” he told MTV News. The video definitely will make the MJ comparisons come easily.

Brown’s new album, his sixth solo effort, is due in stores sometime this summer and will feature Kendrick Lamar and others.

This awesome project plots various locations in New York city that are mentioned by rappers in songs. Jay Shells places these street signs at the exact locations mentioned by the rapper and inadvertently creates a hip hop scavenger hunt that I’d love to take part in. I really hope these signs are never removed because it’s really interesting to know that when you stand below one of these signs, you’re standing at a point that has had a part to play in the evolution of hip hop culture. I’ve embedded a video below where Jay Shells gives more insight into the project.

Young Jeezy ft. 2 Chainz - “R.I.P.” [VIDEO]

To think, there was a time not too long ago when a lot of y’all were saying Young Jeezy was finished. The Snowman comes through with a video for his club and street smash “R.I.P.” featuring 2 Chainz.

The DJ Mustard-produced jam has been knocking for a minute and for the visual (which has been in the works for months) Jeezy sticks to the song’s script; the club, mad females and the occasional shot in a cemetery. Cameos from Ne-Yo, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, E-40, T.I., Warren G and more, including that Basketball Wives Los Angeles chick Draya. The club was definitely poppin’ that night. Also, the Hair Weave Killer is rocking like a dozen chains and a shirt that can only be described as “blinding.”

Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” Ft. T.I. & Pharrell

Robin Thicke premiered his new “Blurred Lines” video on “106 & Park” tonight. And after his finale of “Real Husbands of Hollywood” last night, he dropped this video today telling Access Hollywood:

“I figured this was a great song with a personality that matched the show. The silliness and the sexiness, we just felt like it was the perfect song to air at the end of the show to keep that life alive.”
